Royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti said Prince Harry’s ‘intimate and heartfelt’ memoir, could actually “help” Camilla if he chooses to be highly critical of her. Prince Harry’s book, set to come out just in time for Christmas this year, has been called an “intimate and heartfelt memoir” of his life by publishers Random House. Followers of the Royals are waiting with baited breath for what is promised to be an “accurate and wholly truthful,” account of Harry’s life so far. One area of intense speculation is around Harry’s relationship with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who will one day be crowned Queen consort.
Harry said he’s written the book “not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become”. “I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively,” he says in advance publicity for the book, promising that he will be “telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned…” Royal-watchers have questioned whether Harry’s loyalty to his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, could be the cause of a rift between himself and stepmum Camilla. However Royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti has warned that if Harry uses his book to dish the dirt on his father’s second wife it could backfire on him.
“It might dent her reputation, depending on what he says,” he told The Express . “If there are things in there that people don’t like about how she’s behaved or interacted with the family, I don’t know if that’s the case. “But I think it might also have the opposite effect in that Harry and Meghan are increasingly unpopular in the UK because of their activities and statements.Sacerdoti speculated: “I think Harry revealing negative thoughts and opinions about Camilla may well actually help the British public accept her and like her because their public approval is dropping as time goes on, and hers is increasing. “So, for them to discredit her in some way may have a negative effect on their intentions and a positive effect on her among the British public.” Commentators have a wide range of opinions on how the two Princes will feel about the decision for Camilla to become queen when her husband eventually takes the throne.
