The pair met in 2004 and married in 2011, but later separated after just 18 months of marriage and divorced in 2013. According to 2018 book ‘Meghan: A Hollywood Princess’, Meghan had a nickname for her ex-husband, originally given to him by the rapper LL Cool J. The name was the sweet ‘Trevity Trev Trev’.Royal biographer Andrew Morton wrote: “Long blocks of filming followed by weeks of downtime gave her the opportunity to attend more auditions and go travelling with the man she playfully called Trevity Trev Trev, a nickname he’d originally been given by the rapper LL Cool J.”
Mr Morton is referring to Meghan’s first big job in Hollywood ‒ as a ‘briefcase girl’ on the TV game show Deal or No Deal.On the show, contestants had to decide whether to gamble on what was in each of the 26 briefcases held by beautiful models, or take a compromise prize from the ‘banker’.Meghan held number 24 during the second season of the programme in 2006.Each working day they would film several episodes, so she worked hard for a few weeks and then had long periods of time off.
This meant she could audition for more serious acting roles, as she saw Deal or No Deal as merely a stepping stone to greater things.Meanwhile, her boyfriend Trevor was working as a talent agent and producer. The first film he produced, however, was an “unmitigated disaster”.The family action film Zoom, released in 2006, was a box office flop and was lambasted by critics, who branded it unfunny and boring. However, he also worked on a film that came out the following year which was much more of a success ‒ a romantic comedy called License to Wed starring Robin Williams and Mandy Moore.
The couple also liked to go on holiday together, but sometimes Meghan had to go alone because Trevor was too busy.
He was too rushed off his feet to ever visit her on set either, something which was noticed by Meghan’s colleagues.Mr Morton wrote: “They were driven individuals, Trevor as busy, if not more so than his girlfriend.“It was also noticeable that, unlike the boyfriends and husbands of her Deal or No Deal sisters, Trevor never visited Meghan on set.“It was so unusual that his absence was commented on by the other girls.
“However, there were plenty of other celebrities, mainly sports stars, who dropped by, some clearly trying to get up close and personal with the girls.”One celebrity guest that caused quite the “frisson” was none other than Donald Trump. At the time, the real estate tycoon was organising the Miss Universe beauty pageant and hosting his show The Apprentice. He guest starred as the ‘banker’ on Deal or No Deal in an effort to cross-promote their shows, and this meant he got a tour of the set.He introduced himself to several of the models, giving them his business card and inviting them to play golf at one of his courses. One of Meghan’s colleagues at the time, Tameka Jacobs, told Mr Morton: “He was a creep ‒ super creepy.
“But some girls were attracted to money and power and took his number.”Meghan, however, gave Mr Trump “a wide berth”Meghan and Trevor lived together for several years in Los Angeles, and were married for around two years, but they finalised their divorce in August 2013.Three years later, Meghan met Prince Harry on a blind date and the rest is royal history.Meanwhile, Trevor met dietitian Tracey Kurland and they tied the knot last year.
